Carin is a remarkable leader in the education space and has served as principal and consultant training teachers and school systems. What is Empathic Leadership?

Empathic leadership is about leading with love - it is the opportunity to connect with the person on a human level while supporting their growth and development.


What skills or competencies did you enhance through the coaching process?

Honestly, there are so many things, but communication - or at least understanding how and why my style of communication needs to be adjusted so that my messaging can be heard - has been a huge part for me.


Share an example of a goal that you have realized as a result of coaching.

All the goals. No, really, I cant even explain how many different ways I have been challenged and moved as a result of this process. The biggest is probably being able to own my narrative and my place as a leader.


What do professionals need to start anticipating as the change needed to be a strong leader?

Leadership is rooted in relationships and communication. As the ability to communicate through technology increases, the need for personal connection and real relationships will also increase. We have to anticipate that shift and purposefully build relationships that are real and sustainable.
