What is Empathic Leadership?

“An Empathic leader is a person who can adapt , understand, an anticipate the needs of their team as well as how they should communicate with each member to optimize success and maximizes an individual's potential.”

What skills or competencies did you enhance through the coaching process?

“I trust myself, I think that was one of the hardest things to do. I was always second guessing myself, and assuming others second guessed me as well. This also helped me advocate not only for myself but for others. Beyond that I was a wreck to put it nicely; on the verge of breakdown constantly, now I know how to set boundaries and make them standards. Taking care of myself is how take care of others.”

Share an example of a goal that you have realized as a result of coaching.

“I wanted to know how to manage myself to manage not only my time but my emotions and my anxiety around the unexpected. I am a person who who loves consistency I thrive in it. But the world isn’t consistent. It’s incredibly chaotic at times; when I learned to trust myself I learned to be okay trusting my ability to handle the chaos to navigate through it rather than be dragged by it."

What do professionals need to start anticipating as the change needed to be a strong leader?

“Professionals need to be able to anticipate problems that may occur on there way to a specific work goal. Well that’s what I thought . The biggest thing I learned is they also need to start anticipating there emotions so that when they communicate they can do so directly and calmly even at times of high stress.”

Describe Michael Sgro as a professional coach.

“Michael is an amazing Coach, he didn’t have to do this for me. He was not only a great coach for me professionally, he is someone I aspire to be like. He’s positive, kind, and he can even be stern when needed. He called me out when he had to made me see my flaws and transform them into my strengths . I almost gave up, I almost walked away, I was in a bad place mentally but he didn’t give up on me, and he believed in me enough for the both of us when I wasn’t able to believe in myself. I owe him more then he could ever know. I hope to live up to his standard, and make him proud. ”

Anything else you want to share about leadership?

“You don’t blame a rose for not blooming you blame the lack of sun” . Sometimes your environment mentally or physically just lacks a little “sun” or attention give it that and you will see your self bloom into the leader you always could be.”
