What is Empathic Leadership?
“Empathic leaders embrace their team's feelings, perspective, and motivations. Empathy not only enables you to know if the people you’re trying to reach are actually reached but also helps you foster an environment of inclusion and rapid innovation.”
What skills or competencies did you enhance through the coaching process?
“Michael’s coaching has helped me uncover blind spots in my leadership, navigate change in an unpredictable environment, and refine my impact on my local community. Through his coaching, I’ve learned to lean into discomfort and ambiguity, manage stress, and how to effectively lead from a remote work environment.”
Share an example of a goal that you have realized as a result of coaching.
“I'm no longer afraid of change. Rather than making decisions solely on the basis of scarcity or limited capacity, I've learned to view calculated challenges as opportunity and learned to measure the value of opportunity costs.”
What do professionals need to start anticipating as the change needed to be a strong leader?
“Leaders must first foster an environment that is inclusive of differentiated thought and perspective. A strong leader recognizes that an organization's culture starts with them and their ability to listen with empathy and understand their team's' "why".”
Describe Michael Sgro as a professional coach.
“Michael is an extraordinary leader who tailors his coaching style to the direct needs of his clients. He's not only fun and caring, but he's research driven. It was evident from the beginning Michael is selective with who he works with and he simply gets results. Whether it's weeks or years, he stays committed to your professional transformation and development.”
Anything else you want to share about leadership?
“Do not listen with the intent to reply, but with the intent to understand. Get up. Get going. Get vulnerable and see what you're made of. You might surprise yourself.”
